The American Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) predicts that in addition to favorable economic development, the US replacement tire market will grow by 0.3% in 2016.

U.S. Replaces Tire Market Demand or Maintains Growth

According to RMA, the demand for truck and bus tires in the replacement market is expected to grow at a relatively rapid rate, about 1.1%; the overall market for replacement tires is expected to increase by 0.7% to reach an innovative record of 254.1 million, of which 206.8 million are for passenger vehicle tire replacement markets. It has fallen from 2014.

RMA did not comment on the US domestic tire production and the prospects for growth in imports.

According to RMA, demand for OE tires and light-duty trucks market grew faster, by 2.7% and 1.8%, respectively, to 51.1 million and 4.5 million. OE truck tires are expected to drop by 2.9% to 6 million.
