On June 7, an expert from the Planning and Finance Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences organized an on-the-spot acceptance of the development of a two-dimensional X-ray detector developed by the Institute of High Energy Physics.

Two-dimensional X-ray detection equipment uses 200mm x 200mm gas electron multiplier film (GEM) as the main detection component. Through years of painstaking research, the project team has developed the manufacturing process of related detectors, solved the key technical problems in electrode structure design, and developed Multi-channel fast read front-end electronics and high-speed data acquisition systems.

The equipment is characterized by: effective detection area, good position resolution, high counting rate, synchrotron radiation crystal diffraction and two-dimensional imaging capabilities, and has now performed crystal diffraction experiments at Beijing Synchrotron Radiation Experimental Station to realize X-rays. The high counting rate and high resolution detection can meet the needs of the use of synchrotron radiation, and it is expected to be widely applied in X-ray diffraction, small-angle scattering and imaging.

The acceptance panel heard the project leader Chen Yuanbai's development work and use report, financial report and test report of the test panel. The site verified the operation of the development equipment, and reviewed relevant file files and financial accounts. The expert group highly appraised the development of the project, and considered that the technical indicators were equal to or better than the requirements specified in the implementation plan, realizing the two-dimensional accurate positioning of X-ray detection, and filling the domestic high counting rate X-ray gas imaging detector The technological gap is complete; the technical file is complete; the funds are used rationally; the unit self-financing is in place and unanimously agreed to pass the acceptance check. In view of the broad application prospects of the results, the expert group suggested that the study of this project, especially the miniaturization research, should continue without interruption and promote the application and promotion of the project results.
