Peca Brazil starts production of DAF truck target South American market


Peca invested US$320 million in a Brazilian plant that opened in Parana, Brazil on October 2nd, producing DAFXF, CF and LF-type products. The target market is the South American market including Brazil. In 2013, DAF had a market share of more than 16 tons in the European road car market, which was 15.8%.

According to Pecca's executive vice president and chief financial officer Bob Christensen, in 2013 Brazil's truck capacity of more than 6 tons was 140,000 units, and it will continue to grow in the next few years.

According to Marco Davila, head of DAF Brazil, there are already 20 service stations in the DAF truck independent distribution network in 2013. The number will be expanded to 40 in 2014. The first model to be produced in a Brazilian factory is DAFXF-105, and CF and LF series will be produced in the future. Among them, the CF series is mainly for long-distance transportation or heavy engineering, and the LF series is for urban logistics.
