China’s first ethylene cracker with a capacity of 150,000 tons/year—the No. 11 cracking furnace of Zhenhai Refining and Ethylene Cracking Plant—has begun to receive naphtha on July 27 and officially put it into operation, marking a major breakthrough in China’s ethylene production technology. This cracking furnace has the advantages of high annual production capacity, low investment, and low energy consumption. Moreover, due to the adoption of the double furnace structure, split furnace cracking and split furnace burning can be realized, and the operation is relatively flexible.
